My name is Ketut Mendra, people call me Ketut. I am Balinese, born in a small rural village near Ubud in the centre of Bali. Ubud is renowned for its artists and paintings.I completed my education at art school Denpasar and then worked at the Neka Museum in Ubud, where I learnt restorative painting. The experience of working with German restorer “Renate Kan” taught me the importance of conservation and how to protect our cultural heritage appropriately under tropical conditions.
I spent eight most enjoyable years working at the Neka Museum before making the very difficult decision that I needed a change in career to support my family. Art is still my passion and painting continues to fill my leisure hours.
I now work in the travel and tourism industry which provides a significant proportion of Bali’s income. I have been a Government licensed driver and tour guide for ten years. I recognize that travellers have a wide variety of desires and interests and to be successful, I need to satisfy their requirements. My business aims are therefore simple,“Be successful by"
Satisfying the thirst for learning and experiences of travelling families and groups from all over the world.
Presenting Bali in a positive and passionate way to ensure my clients become my friends and return to learn more about our people, our culture and interests, and enjoy even more Bali experiences.”
Meeting and talking with people from many countries with their different and distinctive cultures, intellectual background and way of living has always interested me. Being able to share the beauty and uniqueness of Balinese nature and culture has always made me very proud.
With my limited knowledge of computers and the internet, and with the help of friends, I built this website,
